# Neither is a waste, since the buyer valued the yacht and the painting...

*February 24, 2023 — Comment Spencer Greenberg's post*

Neither is a waste, since the buyer valued the yacht and the painting more than the 'second best' goods that the buyer might otherwise have purchased. The money is not yours to dispense, so how much _you_ value their purchase is irrelevant to the value the buyer assigns to their purchase.
