Tyson Jeffrey Geib Sure, the government would prefer that you comply in the face of lesser punishment (fine, license hostage, etc). And most people do comply, due to the futility of fighting in the face of the overwhelming force the state can ultimately bring to bear against you. But in the absence of guns, many people would just ignore the state. Without guns, how are they going to force you into court? How is the collections agency going to collect the debt? Why wouldn't I just point a gun at them to prevent them from doing so?
