# Scott Aaronson Yeah, Bryan's pretty good at avoiding hatred, even as...

*April 17, 2023 — Comment Archer T. Ships replied to Scott Aaronson's comment.*

Scott Aaronson Yeah, Bryan's pretty good at avoiding hatred, even as he pushes hot button ideas like "Don't Be A Feminist". If I had to guess, he's able to do so because he: * doesn't try to argue beyond the evidence. * acknowledges when his critics make good points * addresses critiques head-on. * he doesn't insinuate people who disagree with him are evil or stupid * rarely, if ever, loses his temper. * his claims are generally well supported by good quality evidence As a result, people may still think he's wrongheaded, but they believe he's good natured and trying to treat ideas/people fairly.
