James Bregan A better summary would be "1) Humans have a pessimistic bias that makes them prone to (erroneous) apocalyptic thinking, and 2) you can't just count the cost of potential nuclear war when considering whether to develop nuclear tech, you also have to consider the costs of _not_ developing nuclear tech. Such costs might include a) Nazi nuclear scientists gain a hefty military advantage b) millions die from coal pollution / crop failures c) millions suffer under Russian mobster/Saudi religious terrorist regimes funded by fossil fuels, etc.
