Brian Trosko We also have a planet full of less intelligent life that co-exists with humans, and has for hundreds of thousands of years. While it's true that humans have caused much misery for less intelligent life forms, we're getting much better at treating animals well, and soon won't be competing much with them at all. We're also the only chance other life forms have for escaping a solar flare, asteroid strike, or to spread through the solar system/universe.
