# Threads: if I wanted to be censored, why leave Facebook? Mastodon...

*July 7, 2023 — Comment Desiree Dawns's post*

Threads: if I wanted to be censored, why leave Facebook? Mastodon is okay, but at least when I tried it, it was a ghost town relative to Twitter. Good if you have a small group of like-minded, tech savvy friends you want to "toot" at. Nostr seems censorship resistant, and popular with the Bitcoin crowd, but still confusing and rough around the edges. Haven't tried Bluesky yet, seems to be doing a lot of things right, but was founded by Jack Dorsey who created/led Twitter to its censorious pre-Elon form.
