Gretchen O'Neal I was a (child) member of the church (in rural Idaho) when the revelation was received. Although I'm sure that some Mormons harbor racist beliefs, I was only ever taught that people of all races were children of God, and were to be treated as equals. For better or for worse, the church is pretty swift to root out people who don't get on board with the prophet's pronouncements.
