Glenn Reynolds Along similar lines, one of the most helpful pieces of advice I got in college was to judge myself on my actions, rather than the outcomes of my actions.  After all, the outcomes of our actions are often largely out of our control.  I still felt anxious to ask a girl out, but it definitely helped.
