John Tchoe People who wax sanctimonious about the desirability of foisting student loan debt onto taxpayers typically also claim to care about the welfare of blacks and Hispanics. Most student loan debt is held by upper middle class white people. Blacks, Hispanics, and the working class don't go to college nearly as often. Yes, feminist studies majors probably don't make a lot of money. But the parents who let Mary Sue rack up huge amounts of debt for a worthless degree from Bryn Mawr are most often upper class whites.
