Brandon Goldman Yes, but a) death is coming for us all already.  Everyone now alive will be dead in 135 years.  Most of us long before than. I personally have about ~25 years left.  b) There are many cases of sociopathic / stupid humans  stifling promising technology (psychedelics, GMO, nuclear) out of paranoia/rentseeking.   AI has the promise of rapidly accelerating anti-aging research.  I'm more worried about the guaranteed deaths caused by aging than deaths that are as yet speculative fiction.
