Ari Krupnik No, far from it. I make a distinction between the Hamas government and supporters and the general population. After 9/11, the US could've specifically targeted Osama Bin Laden. Instead, the USG launched an decades-long war that cost a tremendous amount of money and life to no discernible benefit. Likewise, it seems to me that the Israeli government could've specifically gone after Hamas leadership and perpetrators. Many of the murderers filmed themselves. And I'm sure that the Hamas leadership structure is well known to the Israeli intelligence. They could've arrested the perpetrators and their leadership, instead of razing Gaza. Maybe put a generous bounty on all Hamas leadership and perpetrators to incentivize people to rat them out. Instead, the Israeli government is choosing to carry out a massive over reaction, and committing atrocities themselves.
