Brett Cashman Sadly, a lot of advances in the world are driven by immoral assholes. See, for example, Edison, early NASA rocket scientists, and Isaac Newton. I don't know Andreessen's reasoning, but if I were to guess, he probably thinks that OpenAI probably has the best AI tech, and the best team right now, and by investing in it, he's spreading the risk in his AI portfolio (which consists of a number of much smaller AI companies).
