Women who vigorously fought back or who were sullen and angry all of the time were probably killed or abandoned at much higher rates. Therefore, a lot of women probably have genes that make them at least tolerant of bad behavior. Rapist DNA may also carry DNA that causes women to be attracted to the rapist personality (so that they're more willing to put themselves around rapists). Similar to the way rats infected with Toxoplasma gondii lose their fear of predators. Dark triad traits also often are beneficial to their carriers. The brave altruist dies at the front, while the cowardly sociopath lives in luxury in the halls of power. So, women may well pick carriers of the dark triad because it's a winning strategy in a lot of contexts.
