Shri Samson The less wrong crowd does foster some good discussions, but it's also full of progressive paternalists.  The AI doomer movement grew out of that crowd, as did SBF (who was heavily lobbying to strangle his competitors with regulations when the FTX fraud blew up).   As a rule, they're entirely too enamored with government regulation to solve social ills.
