Moises Salazar True, but there are different rules for celebrity athletes. Imprisoning / harming him for making pro-gay statements would be a huge black eye. Worst case, they fire him, and he walks away with a huge signing bonus. And even if he says nothing more, the people googling his name will find his previous statements.
