Kit Arafiles I agree that men should cryopreserve sperm if they have the money and foresight to do so. However, I don't think the slightly higher risk of defects should dissuade older men from having children if they want. If you buy two lottery tickets, your chance of winning goes up by 100%, but you're still unlikely to win.  Similarly, the base rate of birth defects is low, so even if older men are at somewhat higher risk of having a child with birth defects, it's still a low risk.
