I'd argue it's the Holy Bible, by inculcating a universalist ethic, which in turn facilitated trade and immigration between disparate groups.   It also probably reduced war by encouraging monogamy,  which in turn meant fewer young men with nothing to lose aka cannon fodder / revolutionaries.
