Dave Jackson I haven't seen a survey, but I think most e/acc's think that the same product liability laws that govern every business should apply to AI firms. So to say that we want "zero" controls is a doomer lie. We also support the "presumption of liberty" principle-- that people should be free to live their lives as they see fit, unless/until they cause harm to others. Doomers, on the other hand, think the government should shut down the AI industry entirely, for years. Some think it should be shut down permanently. All of them support a powerful regulatory bureaucracy that strictly controls who can build AI's, and how they can be built. To enforce their demands, doomers want severe punishments, ranging from hefty fines, to imprisonment, to rocket attacks on data centers, even if such attacks risk starting a nuclear war. All this, even though almost no one has been killed or even harmed by AI's to date. Who are the extremists again?
