It's not too late.  But I'd buy Monero instead.  It's actually being used in commerce, and unlike Bitcoin, it's truly private (without going through much costly rigamarole). When folks stop speculating with Bitcoin, and start wanting to use it in every day life, they're not going to want to reveal their every purchase to the world.  So they'll switch to Monero.
