Scott Chelette "At least frame the question in a reasonable way. You and I know its not about children." The claim Mikhail Voloshin made is that nativists want to block immigrants, not because they have an antipathy to them, but for "vetting and assimilation" purposes. If that's true, then allowing Gazan children (under the age of say, 14) to be adopted/fostered by US citizens should pose little problem for nativists. Do you support allowing Americans to adopt / foster Gazan children? Do you think most nativists would support it? IMO, I don't think modern nativists are any more enthusiastic about letting Gazan children be adopted / fostered in the US, than 1940's nativists were enthusiastic about letting Jewish children into the US: "In 1939, as the world went to war, Hitler broadcast his intentions to annihilate European Jewry. Simultaneously, FDR refused to support a bill that would have let 20,000 Jewish German adolescents into the US. Anne Frank and her sister Margot could have qualified to be included, since they were German citizens and under age 16"
