Terese Bastarache > what is your solution and what is the road map to see it realized? Speaking for myself, I think liberty loving folks should be pushing for complete separation of school and state. IMO, EFA's and other programs that take tax funding are a trojan horse for government control over private / home schools. Other state subsidy programs (Social Security, Pell grants, ag subsidies, Medicare/Medicaid) have solidified, not reduced, state power. https://www.edchoice.org/engage/an-employee-stock-ownership-plan-for-americas-public-schools/ The more students leave the government schools, the less justification exists for their continued funding. So I'd create private scholarships that students can use for any non-government funded education programs. For every $250 K raised, you can fund a $10 K scholarship in perpetuity. So it would take about $42 billion to provide private scholarships to every existing child in NH in perpetuity. Total current government spending is about $3.3 billion/year.
