"About the only way to make this work well would be to massively lower the cost of energy through some new 4th Gen nuclear option like molten salt thorium reactors, " The Sorek B plants are fueled by natural gas.  The US, like Israel, also has cheap natural gas.  So, why can't it be done here for a similar cost?
