If copyright didn't exist, and  Lucasfilm/Disney could not direct the government to cage/bludgeon anyone who tried to publish an unauthorized Star Wars story, there would likely be thousands of new Star Wars books/movies/TV shows by now. Many of them would be drek, but there would also likely be many gems much better than the woke excrement that Disney crapped out.
