Carson McNeil Yes, I think many UBI supporters are all about _receiving_ a UBI, and aren't too eager to _provide_ a UBI (which they expect to forcibly extort from someone richer than themselves). However, there are plenty of UBI supporters at every income level. Why can't they start pooling the same amount of money that they want to be expropriated from themselves if UBI's were made mandatory? The flat percentage is just a suggestion. If some VBI supporters want to try a progressive scheme, be my guest. Let a thousand VBI's bloom. > If we do this, rich people who don't volunteer for UBI will outcompete those who do, and UBI will quickly die out. Don't UBI supporters argue that, freed from the need to provide for themselves, people will be more able to take on entrepreneurial ventures? Shouldn' t that make the community of UBI supporters _more_ wealthy, not less?
