Agree! People will watch "woke" shows when they are otherwise well made. Examples include Blue Eye Samurai, Stephen Universe, West Wing, etc. The problem is that "woke" ideology is the default throughout the entertainment industry. So, it's the ideology of the conformist mediocrities. And when they get control over a beloved property (Star Wars, Ghostbusters), they write plotlines and characterizations that conform with the ideology, but conflict with the history of the characters or previous worldbuilding. And because they're mediocrities, their plots are full of holes, stupid jokes, physical impossibilities, etc. They're unable to emphathize with characters whose ideology they disagree with, and thus make them cardboard villains. "Parks and Rec" is an example of a show that doesn't do this. Even though it's clear where the ideology of the writers of Parks and Rec lie, and even though Nick Offerman is personally very liberal, both he and the writers were sympathetic and fair to the libertarian character Ron Swanson. They also weren't shy about portraying some of the failings/absurdities of their own side. So it's enjoyable to people of all political persuasions.
