Tim Anderson Yes, rentseeking / regulatory capture are pernicious problems.  My main point is that no matter what system you have, no matter how benevolent the executors of that system, someone, somewhere must a) assign a monetary value to human life b) make tradeoffs between competing demands for limited resources.
