Brian Trosko I care much more about not dying due to aging, since the value of future humans to me quickly falls to zero due to hyperbolic discounting. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hyperbolic_discounting I also think the doomers are incredibly arrogant to think they can direct the future evolution of sentience.  It's like Australopithecus trying to direct the evolution of humanity.
