Brian Trosko Doomers are claiming that AI's will drive humanity to extinction in the next 5 - 10 years. https://www.econlib.org/archives/2017/01/my_end-of-the-w.html And I don't think AI will make us immortal, which is probably impossible. However, I think that AI's could make significant advances in anti-aging and uploading research in the next 20 years. Such research could buy many of us who would otherwise be dead in the next 20 - 30 years  substantially more time.
