Many of you probably got some battery powered power tools for Christmas. Congrats!

Unfortunately, most of the major power tool brands use their own expensive, proprietary battery systems.

Historically, many after market batteries and battery adapters have proven to be of dubious quality.

Thankfully, there is a new (to me) company called [Ceenr](https://ceenr.com/) that has developed a universal battery / adapter system that allows you to use the same batteries across a number of manufacturers.

).

I also encourage folks to buy tools from manufacturers who have joined the [Cordless Alliance](https://cordless-alliance-system.com/en/).

Led by [Metabo](https://www.metabo.com/us/enus/), the members of the Cordless Alliance have agreed to follow single battery spec. That way, all of their tools, battery packs, and chargers are 100% compatible with each other.
