Helen Brinsmead Where did I say that the US government works for the good of the people? I think the US government (and most governments) are mafias that work primarily for the benefit of government bureaucrats and their cronies. That's why I want the government out of the healthcare market entirely, so the parasites have less opportunity to put their hooks in. I also don't think that people behave better when they can't say no. Would husbands behave better if their wives could not divorce? Would employers behave better if employees cannot quit? Would your local grocery offer better products if you were forced to shop there, and no where else? Likewise, I don't think a healthcare system where you're forced to pay, can't leave (except by exiting the country), and must obey (upon threat of imprisonment or death), results in good care in the long run.
