Scott McCrory On the contrary, the weakest states are those that try to turn themselves into hermit kingdoms. The Native Americans were wiped out largely because they were socially isolated from the rest of the world, and didn't develop any immunity from the diseases of the Europeans. The Chinese were rolled by the British despite having far greater numbers, because their self imposed isolation retarded their technological development. North Korea is one of the poorest and weakest countries in the world. Almost all of the great cities of the world are / were cosmopolitan hubs of trade where people from all over the world could come to hawk their wares.
