# Damjan Cvetkov-Dimitrov No, governments won't stop immigration...

Damjan Cvetkov-Dimitrov No, governments won't stop immigration entirely, because that's impossible. And even a small amount of legal immigration will be possible, as powerful people will always need a way to get their Czech / Slovenian wives into the country. Just as it's easy for rich / powerful people to get guns. But immigration suppression laws can certainly make immigration extremely difficult and costly for the people who _aren't_ wealthy or politically connected. That's the dodge I'm pointing out that the nativists / gun banners are making: just because you don't ban _all_ immigration or guns, doesn't mean that the bans you do impose don't cause a great deal of harm.
