Taryn East Trump is the leader of the executive branch. Does he not have the power to investigate what his supposed underlings are doing? Does he not have the power to hire people to perform such investigations on his behalf? Can he not give them the relevant security clearances? What if the civil service is rife with corruption? Recall that the previous President gave many of his administration officials a blanket pre-emptive pardon. Doesn't that mean he thinks they committed acts which could be prosecuted as crimes? If they are as yet unprosecuted criminals, do you think they're going to cooperate with a corruption investigation? If the FBI is corrupt, who will properly investigate the corruption of the FBI if not outsiders to the FBI? If Congress believes Trump is doing something illegal, there is a defined mechanism for pursuing such claims: impeachment.
