Stephen Bachelor What part of "past paternalist authoritarian policies destroyed confidence in the public health service" don't you understand?  Peope won't comply with people they believe to be malevolent, dishonest actors. Even if you start machine gunning the citizenry, or welding them into their homes, as authoritarian socialists are wont to do, that will only increase opposition.  (If these policies are so good for us, why does the government feel the need to machine gun us / weld us into our homes if we don't comply?)
