John Lam As the dollar is devalued in order to service debt payments, everyone's wealth is reduced.  And the more it is devalued the higher the interest rate that must be offered to foreign debt holders to induce them to accept the risk of de facto default.  That money must either come from taxes, or from more borrowing which kicks the cost down to future taxpayers aka our children.
