Tom Ioppolo "Jeremy Waldron comes to mind—who think that in some circumstances we actually do damage by overprotecting extremely vile forms of speech. " Yes, all censors think their censorship is justified. " Don’t economists have a concept of “market failure”?" Yes. But to the extent that such failures exist, it doesn't follow that government intervention will improve matters, as government failure also exists. Given that we live in a world where almost all major cultural institutions are dominated by authoritarian progressives, and both major parties are pro-tariff, pro-crony capitalism, anti-immigrant, pro-spending, pro-tax, I don't think it's the pro-government side in need of defense right now.
