Tariff supporters often make these two claims simultaneously:\

1. Tariffs will replace the income tax.\
2. Tariffs are just a negotiating tactic.\
\
Let\'s assume that tariffs cause other countries to drop their tariffs. The US will drop its tariffs too, right? After all, if we didn\'t, why wouldn\'t other countries just put their tariffs up again?\
\
Yet, if there are no tariffs, where does the revenue to replace the income tax come from?
