# Lisa Mo' Chin I think corporate executives do try to maximize...

*March 14, 2025 — Comment Archer T. Ships replied to Lisa Mo' Chin's comment.*

Lisa Mo' Chin I think corporate executives do try to maximize profits. Do you think the best way to maximize their profit is to only think about the short term? IMO, the most profitable companies plan for well beyond the current quarter. Also, the more they raise prices, the greater the incentive for a competitor to undercut their prices and take market share from them. Absent government meddling, it's very difficult for cartels to maintain discipline.
