I agree that people should learn how to use cryptocurrency and buy some for their portfolio. However, I disagree that BTC is a good buy. Unfortunately, BTC has been co-opted by a secular cult that has stymied the updates necessary for BTC to continue to work as electronic cash (privacy, transaction cost, transaction timeliness, ease of use, censorship resistance, etc). Monero has almost entirely replaced Bitcoin on the darknet markets for these reasons. IMO, once people stop speculating with BTC, and realize that everything they buy with BTC can easily be tracked by the government/data brokers (unless they take difficult steps to obfuscate their tracks), they will look for currencies that are easier / less costly to use and keep their transactions private by default.
