Remember that we're not that far from our fellow great apes. A high percentage of the population is stupid, ignorant, can't do math, and doesn't even know / care when they are being logically inconsistent. It's a marvel that some of us, some of the time, are logically or ethically consistent. If you wonder why some humans don't regard overfeeding their kids as child abuse, ask yourself: - Why 18 year olds can be enslaved to fight and die in war, get married, and take on $100's of K in debt, but can't legally drink beer or smoke cigarettes. - Why progressives fervently shout "my body, my choice [to get an abortion]", but will also demand prison for anyone who tries to sell you non-government approved medicine / medical services. - Why both progressives and conservatives teach their children that it's unethical to rob people at gunpoint, _unless_ the person is wearing a police / IRS uniform.
