David S. Bernstein And to be clear, I think the many within the Israeli government _are_ trying to minimize innocent death. I think the US government also tried to minimize innocent death in Vietnam, Afghanistan, and Iraq.  But they were still unwise wars that caused hundreds of thousands of innocent deaths. And I think that the same is true of the Palestinian conflict.
