Doc Ryan Dex Even if you are more likely to commit a violent crime, it doesn't matter. Our legal system is based on the principal of personal culpability — that you can only be held liable for your own actions or omissions, not those of others in your race, religion, gender, etc. If that were not the case, men could be denied access to guns on the basis of their sex, as men commit violent crimes at much higher rates than women.
