If violence isn't the answer sometimes, why do cops and soldiers carry guns?
Leftists endorse institutional violence on a massive scale. Every tax, every regulation is enforced with an implicit threat of violence. "Obey, or you will be fined or caged. Fight back hard enough and you will be killed."
Many leftists also endorse vigilante violence. You may recall how often those on the left called for their fellows to "punch a Nazi"?
What leftists object to is not violence per se, but _retaliatatory_ violence. They want the power to extort, bludgeon, cage, and murder people, but they don't want the same to be done to them.
If left-wingers were actually opposed to the use of political violence in principle, they would be libertarians.
