Caleb Ramsey I don't think the FDA should exist in the first place. Failing that, I think enforcement should be as lax as possible. I don't see how that's inconsistent for a libertarian. No, a nearly free market doesn't exist. What are you talking about? In a free market, people would be able to startup a drug company and start selling peptides in the US without FDA permission at all. People buy drugs from oversea, because the FDA makes creating a drug startup in the US extremely expensive. And the whole point of this FDA crackdown is to try stop people from buying drugs synthesized overseas. If you sell drugs in the US without FDA approval, you will be fined. If you refuse to pay the fine, you will be arrested. If you fight the arrest with sufficient vigor you will be killed. That is far from a free market.
