Carrie-Anne Hoke Eliminating birthright citizenship would allow people born and raised in the US to be deported: https://x.com/LPNH/status/1877378493807284308 https://mises.org/power-market/birthright-citizenship-isnt-real https://x.com/LPNH/status/1966993442682400893 https://x.com/HuffinesLiberty/status/1965399920371749373 https://x.com/beinlibertarian/status/1704993612713337186 https://x.com/EireNua1/status/1947736665402855669 Depriving someone of liberty just because they or their parents were born in Mexico is ethically no different than depriving someone of their liberty because they were born black (or gay, or a woman, or Jewish). All of those groups overwhelmingly vote for Democrats and/or progressive policies. The most common justification libertarians give for stripping immigrants of their liberties is their fear that immigrants might vote for more welfare. But if immigrants can be deprived of their liberty because they might someday vote Democrat, then isn't that sufficient grounds to strip those other groups of their liberties as well?
