L Amber O'Hearn > so the sex worker either takes emotional harm or learns to dissociate sex from real connection or both, and so do her clients. Is it pleasant having sex with people you're not attracted to? No. But neither does it seem any worse than the emotional discomfort other professions must deal with. Nurses, for example, must deal with people who are in pain or dying. Cops must deal with violent people who have done terrible things. EMT's must scrape people off the highway. Retail employees must deal with rude, obnoxious customers. Factory workers must deal with constant boredom. If sex workers didn't think they benefited on net from the arrangement, they wouldn't do it, same as these other professions. Do you think it's unethical to buy the services of cops, nurses, EMT's, factory workers, and food service workers? > there's still the exact same danger of her deciding to keep it when he doesn't want to Yes, it's still a risk with sex workers. But the risk is less than with civilian sex partners. And I would certainly support changes in the law such that men do not have to financially support a child they did not agree to have. Do you think men should be obligated to pay child support for a child that a. the man does not want b. their partner did not choose to abort?
