Ray Yang IMO, the US should be broken up into smaller states anyway.  I think that can be done without civil war, the same way that Brexit, Soviet Union breakup happened (mostly). And if the USG is so tyrannical that it won't let a breakup happen peacefully, then it is time for war in any case.
