Lance Harting If they could reasonably expect to get a green card by doing so, I think most people would do so voluntarily.  It would make many things easier for them, such as allow them to travel back home without fear they wouldn't be able to return,  work for anyone (not just businesses that are willing to hire illegal aliens), and report abusive behavior/theft to the police without fear of being deported themselves.
