Mind viruses, such as Christianity/Marxism, which undercut the ability to think rationality about certain topics. Rational ignorance / rational irrationality - most people are ignorant / irrational about most topics, and have little incentive to correct their errors. Lack of imagination - people have trouble imagining alternate scenarios, and therefore have trouble understanding opportunity cost Sunk cost fallacy - people have trouble realizing losses, and making decisions based solely on the current merits, not how much they have already invested. Groupthink - many humans have trouble thinking / expressing truths that they know will offend/anger others, especially those higher in a hierarchy than themselves.
