> Sometimes Archer T. Ships tempers his open borders advocacy by saying that he also wants the U.S. welfare state to be torn down, which is about as likely as the sun falling out of the sky. Ending immigration suppression laws in the US is similarly unlikely.   I'm well aware that the same nativist thinking that led to FDR blocking millions of Jews from fleeing the Nazis is still dominant, and likely to remain dominant for the rest of my life and beyond. I advocate for what I think is true, ethical, and internally consistent, not what is currently politically feasible.
